True Gait coaches clients in a positive, collaborative partnership to achieve a desired outcome. The approach taps on what is working well today and builds on these prospectively, rather than what needs to be fixed or what is lacking. True Gait’s coaching style is a creative, caring and compassionate process that cultivates active listening and a versatile approach designed to fit the individual or team.

Through an experiential method, the life coaching space extends beyond physical walls or a structured space. While each client presents different needs, the customized strategy will interweave the methods of Equine Assisted FacilitationNature & Biomimicry, and Art. The comfort level and preferred method is based on the client’s comfort level.

True Gait includes but is not limited to the partnership with horses in the coaching process. This is absolutely optional for the client. Why horses? True Gait believes the partnership with horses can help the coaching process immensely.

“Horses can guide us to find our way through the challenging terrain of our lives, toward wholeness and wellbeing. Horses are remarkable teachers of relationship and facilitators of human development. They have an amazing ability to resonate with our true emotions and reflect back to us our authentic self.”

In the emerging fields of equine-assisted psychotherapy, equine-facilitated learning and equine-guided leadership development, horses support individuals, families and teams through action-oriented learning experiences that are immediately applicable to real life issues and work dilemmas.

Taking a walk, being around nature can soothe the mind and body. Conducting a coaching session outdoors can be helpful in freeing one of worldly distractions. Drawing energy from natural elements and co-existing in harmony with the universe can create a peaceful yet profound effect that supports an authentic and pure state of being. Reflective and inspiring, it brings one’s thoughts and emotions into clarity. Journaling, sketching or simply sitting on a rock imbibing nature’s energy can definitely provide insights and enlightenment.

“Biomimicry (from bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate) is a new discipline that studies nature's best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems. The core idea is that nature, imaginative by necessity, has already solved many of the problems we are grappling with. Animals, plants, and microbes are the consummate engineers. They have found what works, what is appropriate, and most important, what lasts here on Earth.”

Art is the universal language of beauty and expression. When conducting a coaching session within art space, we conduct “Art to Heart Talks,” and dive into the center of it all, utilizing art energy as an avenue for enriching dialogues. Not only is creative energy tapped but an inspiring affect emerges from focusing on a magnificent sculpture or when quietly viewing the colorful palette of an impressionist masterpiece. The minutest detail of a brushstroke can trigger and evoke parallels in one’s present state of emotions.

Museums usually offer a contemplative solace that can lead to aesthetic satisfaction and inner enlightenment, aiding the coaching process in infinite ways. These “heartful” revelations can be helpful in the learning journey altogether.
